Middle Office Trading Analyst (London, Great Britain)

Description:

ACG Group is seeking a highly motivated Middle Office Trading Analyst to join our fast-paced and entrepreneurial team.

This role sits at the intersection of our Execution & Clearing and Custody of Assets divisions, with exposure to Investment Solutions and Investment Banking Services. Given our agile structure, you’ll gain cross-functional experience while preparing for a transition into a front-office trading role.

Structured career growth opportunities:

Years 0-2: Middle Office Trading Analyst.
Years 2+: Trader Execution Broker (Compensation discussed during interview + performance-based bonus).
Future: Head of Trading & Brokerage (Compensation discussed during interview + variable bonus tied to trading & brokerage fees).

Key responsibilities:

Reconcile daily trades, positions, and cash balances across internal systems and external counterparties (brokers, clearing firms, exchanges).
Investigate and resolve trade breaks and data discrepancies with precision and urgency.
Process and allocate investment tickets for daily trade bookings.
Support traders in executing client-driven trades – starting as early as three months into the role.
Maintain robust controls and processes to ensure data integrity and audit-readiness.
Contribute to the development and refinement of middle office tools, reports, and workflows.
Assist with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and strategic projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or related field.
1-2 years’ experience in middle office, trade support, or operations within a financial institution (graduates with relevant internships considered)
Strong knowledge of the trade lifecycle, including execution, clearing, and settlement.
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups); ability to handle large data sets accurately.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
Ambition to grow into a front-office trading role.

Requirements

To be eligible for an internship at ACG Group, you must:

University degree (obtained or close to graduation) or above in banking & finance, business administration, economics or related discipline.
International experience is beneficial.
Excellent knowledge of MS office applications (Excel, Macros, VBA).
Expertise in Bloomberg & programming skills are a plus.
